House Museum of Aram Khachaturian
Aram Khachatryan House Museum was founded in 1978. The house was presented to Khachatryan by the government of Soviet Armenia in 1947. The architect is Mark Grigoryan. The house has only one floor with 5 large rooms. The idea of turning the house into a museum arose during the composer's lifetime.
Khachatryan lived in house with his mother and brother's family. The composer often stayed in there, hosted guests and worked. The house has been preserved completely unchanged. A two-story building was added to it, and it was built in the garden area of the house. A memorial fountain was erected on the occasion of the composer's 105th birthday. The first exhibition was organized in 1984.
The museum has more than 18,000 historical objects from the composer's life, including photographs, personal items, letters, correspondence, films, documents, books, notebooks, etc. There are many scientific works related to the study of the life and works of the composer carried out. The museum supports the publication of materials related to Aram Khachatryan.
